There’s a brand new iPhone application that will let you get the ridiculous sound of T-Pain’s auto-tune. In case you have not been privy to the wonders of auto-tune, let us enlighten you. According to Wikipedia (So, it must be true.), auto-tune is a program that perfects the pitch of a singer no matter how bad they sound. Reba McEntire, Vince Gill and others use the technology to make their sound cleaner. Other performers, such as Chef and Janet Jackson, use the program as an effect.
Onto the interesting part of the story. Jason Kottke has auto-tuned his baby singing his ABCs. We must say, the kid sounds good. We would consider giving him a record deal. He’s definitely better than Britney Spears. While Kottke didn’t release a video of the rugrat, he does a have recording on his site. Since we would never leave you hanging without a sweet photo or a cool video. Here is a vid of a little baby being auto-tuned. (Don’t worry. It’s not as gross as it sounds.)
