Before we had reality TV on every channel, TV dance parties were our reality TV. Sure, you had your high budget productions like American Bandstand and Soul Train, but the best ones were the knockoffs, with low production values, and a mulleted host.
Nothing said “low-rent dance party” quite like the music of Bobby Brown (except maybe New Kids on the Block).
These dance parties looked just like your middle school dance party in your garage, except they were on TV. Club Heartthrob had all of these elements, and so much more. Try watching this video and see if you don’t wanna get up and join in, too. It’s your prerogative.
