Music Festival Poster Causes Canadians to Say Holy F@ck!

Thursday June 18, 2009 12:27 PM

The organizers of Calgary’s Sled Festival are catching a lot of heat for a festival poster, featuring the name of one of the headlining bands: Toronto’s Holy F@ck.

The poster isn’t that exciting, but the response has been hilarious. Some of the money quotes from angry Calgarians (or is it Calgons?):

Ali Clark, manager at Kane’s Harley Diner in Inglewood, said no one asked for permission to put up a poster in her restaurant.

“One of the kids pointed out to me there are swear words on a poster,” she said. “That’s appalling to find in a family restaurant.”

Hey, lady! You work at a Harley Diner. What’d you expect? Have you ever even seen a Harley rider?

“Typical, average Harley riders”

Clark said she was at first distracted by the cute illustration that accompanied the profanity.

“It has a bunny on it,” she said while crumpling up the poster. “Imagine your eight-year-old going over to read it.”

Kids just can’t resist a bunny.

So, we did some digging around, and we think the people are freaking out over nothing. What we find truly offensive about the band Holy F@ck is their really crappy music.

The organizers are reprinting censored versions of the posters, but unfortunately for concert-goers, they’ll still have to listen to Holy F@ck.
