It’s too big, it’s too wide
It’s too strong, it won’t fit
It’s too much, it’s too tough
He talk like this ’cause he can back it up
It’s clear Beyonce can only be singing about one thing in her latest single. She must want the whole word to know that her man Jay-Z’s packing a —
…a big ego, such a huge ego
I love his big ego, it’s too much
He walk like this ’cause he can back it up
Whoops we did not see that going there. We just figured the song was called “Ego” the same way “Baby Got Back” isn’t about “backs” so much as it’s about butts. In following with Beyonce’s other music videos off of her I am . . . Sasha Fierce album this one also is shot in black and white, has similar dance moves (some resembling a “Jay Leno-esque” head bob) and two back up dancers.
Here are some thoughts we had while watching the video:
- That is a lot of cleaveage, Beyonce.
- Wait, did Beyonce just give herself a breast exam?!
- Why is Beyonce wearing what looks like a silver lamé American Apparel bathing suit?
- Who’s idea was it for Beyonce to cover up that silver lamé American Apparel bathing suit with a blazer?
- Are Beyonce and the other two dancers in this video playing musical chairs? Is that the concept of this music video?
- Wait we spoke too soon. The concept of this video is Beyonce dancing with Martha Stewart curtain rods sold exclusively at Kmart.
- How long until recreations of this is a meme?
Also, did this video remind anyone else of the 90s En Vogue hit “Never Gonna Get It”? The silver outfits, the black and white, the dancing, the diva attitude. C’mon, you think Beyonce invented all that?
