What Amy Winehouse’s Back Up Singers Were Saying During Her "Comeback" Performance

Monday May 11, 2009 6:13 PM

As L.L. Cool J would say, “Don’t call it a comeback”. No, really. Don’t. If you’re hoping that this concert in St. Lucia was going to be Amy Winehouse’s big career rehab, you were wrong, but mark yourself down as a glass half full person though.

So, Amy flopped. We’re saddened by this, but wondered what were her back two up singers were saying to each other while this was all going down:

“Oh man what if she doesn’t come out on stage like in our dress rehearsal. I knew I should have just stayed home tonight. There was a really good movie on TMC.”
“Good here she comes. Oh no that’s not the outfit she’s supposed to be wearing. I think that dress came with tights. Wait, maybe those tights are hiding in her hair somewhere.”
“Hey, bro are you gonna tell her that she’s facing the wrong way or should I?”
“Maybe we should just wait and see if she figures it out.”
“Okay, but what do we do until then?”
“Nothing just smile and keep doing this dance move.”
“I feel silly.”
“Oh stop. We’re the best thing going on on this stage right n—oh wait what is she doing?
“Why did she move the mic stand closer to us?”
“I don’t know keep dancing.”
“Oh, God. She smells like gin, Aquanet, and Designer Impostor perfume.”
“One false move and she’ll ignite!”
“Just keep dancing, man. Just dance and smile and think about that check.”
“Looking back on it now it seems foolish that we had to audition for this gig, doesn’t it?”
“Phew she’s singing. She remembers there’s a concert going on!”
“Yes but she doesn’t remember the words. Dance harder!”
“No wait she stopped singing. Now she’s trying to dance like us.”
“Amy! Amy no! You’re here to sing. We do the dancing remember?”
“Wait she’s singing again. . . and it’s away from the audience.”
“I am walking off this stage now. You coming with me?”
“Just think about the money.”
“You’re right. You’re so right. I just wish we had rehearsed some other moves.”
