As we said before, these aren’t songs you still love or have ever loved, but they’re songs who’s lyrics have been burned in your brain for all eternity even if you haven’t heard them in over a decade.
So now we bring you 10 MORE Songs You Forgot You Still Know All the Words To:
Kicking us off at #10 is “Ants Marching” by Dave Matthews Band. Don’t lie, somewhere in the back of your closet at home is a Dave Matthews poster and a washed out Ben & Jerry’s One Sweet Whirled ice cream pint. We know you’re soooo past your days of being a DMB fan, but that doesn’t mean you’ve forgotten the lyrics. #6 “Things That Make You Go Hmmmm…” by C+C Music Factory. Of course you still know all the words. Think of how many times you hit rewind on your casette tape to memorize them. We’ll get you started: “I was at the crib, sitting by the fireplace, drinking cocoa on my bearskin rug”.
The other 9 after the jump.
#9 Warren G “Regulate”. “It was a clear black night, a clear white moon..” You know how to fill in the rest.
#8 “Another Night” by The Real McCoy. The mid 90s was a weird time for music. Seriously, what were we listening to? If you went to even one Bar Mitzvah during that time, then you totally danced to this song. And by danced we mean: awkwardly bounced off rhythm with your crush while you tried not to sweat nervously.
#7″All Over You” by Live. Then of course there are some songs from the mid-90s that still stand the test of time. This song is one of them. Once you listen you’ll be angry at yourself for not already having this on your iPod. We know the lyrics, but we still don’t know what “Our love is like water” means.
Speaking of things…
#5 is “All The Small Things” Blink182. Not only are we sure you forgot you knew all the lyrics to this, you probably forgot you watched MTV’s Making The Video for this song too.
#4 “The Sign” By Ace of Base. We feel like this one needs no explanation.
#3 “End Of The Road” by Boyz II Men. It’s really a tie between this song and pretty much every Boyz II Men song. What would we have slow danced to in gymnasiums if it weren’t for them. We picked this song because it was usually the go to for School Dance DJ’s for the last song of the night.
#2 “What’s Up” By 4 Non Blondes. This song just gets better with age. And by age we mean the legal age to drink, is there a song more fun to sing to in a crowded bar when drunk? That’s how well you know the lyrics, you could be unable to opperate heavy machinery, but you could still nail every word to this song.
#1 “Mr. Jones” By Counting Crows. “Sha la la la la la yah. Uh-huh yeah”. You guys take it from here!
