We Dedicate A Special Song To Madeline Primoff, The White Plains Mother Who Kicked Her Daughters Out Of Her Car

Wednesday April 29, 2009 8:31 AM

Above the story of a mother in White Plains, NY who kicked her 10 and 12 year old daughters out of the car when they wouldn’t stop bickering.

Here’s the gist of the scenario
: The woman and the girls’ grandmother than drove around the block to teach the two kids a lesson. When she returned moments later the kids were not where she had dropped them off. One daughter showed up the other was missing. It turned out that a passerby saw the young child and bought her ice cream and then flagged down a policeman. When Primoff (who had called 911 to report her daughter missing) went to pick her daughter up at the police station, she was then arrested for child endangerment and had to spend a night in jail. Did you get that? The daughter gets rewarded and the mother gets thrown in jail. Sigh.

Here’s what we think: Being a mom is hard. Anyone who tells you otherwise has either never had a child or is Angelina Jolie and neither should be trusted for their opinion on the matter. We were threatened to be kicked out of the car as kids, but most of the time it was for being beyond annoying and not for bickering. But both annoying and bickering children can lead to a distracting situation for the driver which could 100 percent cause an otherwise avoidable accident. What if the mother, while trying to demand the two daughters respect not only each other, but their grandmother who was in the car hit an innocent bike rider? Who would be to blame? The courts wouldn’t go after the daughters for making the car unsafe to drive? Heck, no! They would blame the mother and a situation far worse than a child standing on a busy corner for 5 minutes to learn a lesson in how to behave and get along with a family member would have been the consequence. Like we said, being a mom is hard.

So, White Plains Mom, we dedicate to you a song in the time honored tradition of annoying things kids do in a car, a song that would have gotten us left off at a curb by our mothers: “The Diarrhea Song”.

What do you guys think? Should the mother had gone to jail? Was she right? What annoying songs did you guys sing in the car as kids that drove your mothers crazy? Email or leave a comment below.
