We know it’s totally awesome that you work in a super laid back office that lets you listen to music at your desk while you work, but don’t forget today is Take Your Daughter To Work Day. So be careful what comes up on your iTunes playlist or next Thursday will be Take Daddy to the Unemployment Office. We’re just trying to help you not look like a major creeper.
#10 “Me + Yr Daughter” by Natalie Portman’s Shaved Head. Why? Um, the lyrics are “Me and your daughter, never been hotter.” Yeah, maybe try rocking out to this one after 6pm.
The other 9 “no’s” for today after the jump.
#9 “Girls” by The Beastie Boys. “Girls all I really want is girls” playing from your office computer is not okay today.
#8 “Cherry Pie” Warrant. Unless you’re a DJ at a classic rock radio station, do NOT play this song today.
#7 “Thank Heaven For Little Girls”. Remember that scene in My Father the Heropan> where GĂ©rard Depardieu plays this at the talent show and creeps everyone out? Yeah, play this and that will be you.
#6 “Little Girls” Annie Soundtrack. A song about hating little girls is just as bad as a song about loving them. Even if show tunes help you plow through the work day, try and tough it out till tomorrow.
#5 “Daughter” by Pearl Jam. This song is rumored to have been about child abuse. Save your 90s alt rock for the weekend.
#4 “Girls Girls Girls” Motley Crue. If we need to explain this one to you, you probably work in one of the “establishments” mentioned in this song.
#3″Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” Cyndi Lauper. We know you want to play up how you’re the fun cool dude in the office, but playing this is the equivalent of a man with a van offering a little kid candy.
#2 Tie between “Burnin Up” by The Jonas Brothers and “See You Again” Miley Cyrus. Why? See above.
#1 “Mrs. Brown You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter” Herman’s Hermits. Play this and next week people will be saying, “Mrs. Brown you’ve got a lovely new assistant.”
Good luck. And if you’re still worried your music isn’t appropriate, try headphones. You didn’t want to talk to those kids anyway.
