There is nothing wrong with a pop artist recording a song for a Disney compilation album. And as far as cover songs go, Billy Joel’s “When You Wish Upon A Star” is pretty darn good. There is also nothing wrong with agreeing to do a Disney music video for the said song. (Click Here To Watch The Music Video) However, if you’re going to do a sentimental and silly music video for Disney, the least you can do to keep your street cred is to TAKE OFF those sunglasses not keep them on! We know this was during the era where Billy Joel thought he was Ray Charles, but he’s not. There is absolutely no reason for him to be wearing those “cool” “hip” Ray-Ban’s while flying with Peter Pan and Wendy and walking though an animated cell of Snow White a la A-ha’s “Take On Me”.
Our favorite part of this video though is the guy playing the Disney animator.
