You know what we hate? When people see a music video like this and say things like “Hey, remember when MTV actually played music videos?” as if they’re the first person to make that observation. We always feel like saying, “Hey, remember when you were actually in MTV’s demographic?”
Anyway, when we were rewatching this video for the first time in years we thought, “Hey, remember back when Weird Al was considered weird and Michael Jackson was considered normal and cool?” We know there are tons of Comedy Hall of Fame worthy Weird Al videos we could have chosen from, but we picked this one for sentimental reasons (it was our first introduction to Weird Al). And because it’s interesting to us that what was once considered absurdly and comedically fat in this video, is now as easy to see as a trip to the mall.
