Completely Unnecessary Cover: Flo Rida’s "Right Round"

“Right Round” by Flo Rida

Some covers are great. They make you feel all warm and cozy, like being all bundled up on the couch watching bad movies on a cold rainy day. Then there are some covers that are like Snuggies. They make you scratch your head and wonder, “Is this really necessary in life?”

Flo Rida’s “Right Round” walks the very fine line between both. On the one hand, we didn’t ever think that we needed to hear any version of Dead or Alive’s “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)” past 1989. On the other hand, it reminds us of Zoolander, which we loved, and we know better than to go out of our way to make fun of a song that we’ll ultimately end up dancing to the next time we’re at a party. Plus, we’re sure Dead or Alive could use the royalty checks.
